CP AXTRA Advances AXTRA Circular Impacts Initiative Transforming Plastic Bottles into 10,000 Recycled School Uniforms for Thai Students Nationwide, Targeting 10.5 Million Bottles for Recycling in 2026

Bangkok, 02 July2026 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, the operator of Makro and Lotus’s, continues to advance its sustainability strategy through “AXTRA Circular Impacts: รวมพลัง ขับเคลื่อนไทยสู่ความยั่งยืน”, transforming used plastic bottles into 10,000 recycled school uniforms for students in schools under The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and the CONNEXT ED Foundation nationwide.

The initiative reinforces CP AXTRA's commitment to promoting the Circular Economy while creating shared social value by expanding educational opportunities and fostering environmental awareness among Thai youth, empowering the next generation to drive positive and lasting change for society and the environment.

Throughout 2025, CP AXTRA collaborated with PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) and WasteBuy Delivery Co., Ltd. to promote the systematic collection and recycling of used plastic bottles under the Circular Economy concept. The programme established Plastic Bottle Drop Points, installed more than 140 Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) across Makro and Lotus’s stores nationwide, organised Recycle Market events every weekend at nine Makro and Lotus’s locations, and continuously operated plastic bottle collection activities through various corporate initiatives.

Through these collective efforts, CP AXTRA successfully diverted more than 2.5 million clear plastic bottles into certified recycling processes, transforming them into recycled school uniforms that have already been distributed to 10,000 students at OBEC schools and schools under the CONNEXT ED Foundation across Thailand. The initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration among the private sector, industry, government agencies, educational institutions, and the public in transforming "waste" into "opportunity," while delivering measurable environmental, social, and educational impact.

In 2026, CP AXTRA aims to collect 10.5 million clear plastic bottles for recycling through “AXTRA Circular Impacts: รวมพลัง ขับเคลื่อนไทยสู่ความยั่งยืน”, in collaboration with partners from all sectors, including more than 500 educational institutions nationwide. The initiative seeks to recover plastic bottles and return them to the production cycle in line with Circular Economy principles, creating new value from recyclable materials.

At the same time, the programme is designed to encourage active participation from the public, local communities, and young people across Thailand, empowering them to become key drivers of sustainable resource management while helping reduce plastic waste entering the ocean, waterways, and landfill sites. The initiative further reinforces CP AXTRA's role in advancing sustainability beyond the organisation and into society, while continuing to build a better future for both the environment and Thailand's younger generations.
